Clinical medicine is meaningful work. But for many physicians, it no longer offers the financial freedom, autonomy, or intellectual variety they expected.
CapitalMD started from something personal for both of us.
For Nick, the connection began inside his own family. His father was a cardiologist. His sister is a neurologist. His brother-in-law is an ENT plastic surgeon. Across his extended family, physicians were everywhere, and Nick was often the business person at the table. Over the years, he became the one pulled into conversations about investing, private practice, social media, reputation, and private equity transactions. The same pattern kept showing up: physicians are exceptional at caring for everyone else, but too often are left to navigate the business side of their own lives alone.
For Gus, the connection goes back to childhood. When he was five years old, his appendix burst. He spent 21 days in the hospital and went through multiple surgeries. That experience left him with a lasting respect for what physicians do. It also made the stakes clear. When doctors are burned out, financially stressed, or trapped in work they do not want, the consequences do not live in the cloud. They follow doctors into the clinic, the operating room, and their interactions with patients.
Together, we came to the same belief: doctors should be able to do their medical work with full presence, while the rest of their professional and financial lives are supported with the same seriousness they bring to their patients.
That belief led us to Dr. Jordan Frey, a plastic surgeon in Buffalo and the founder of The Prudent Plastic Surgeon. Jordan has built a trusted platform helping physicians understand money, build confidence, and practice on their own terms. His work resonated with us immediately. After partnering with Jordan, we helped grow revenue, streamline operations, and expand opportunities while keeping his authentic voice at the center.
That partnership became the blueprint for CapitalMD.
We can’t change healthcare. But we can change how physicians are supported outside of it.
As we work with Jordan and more physicians, we see that doctors need infrastructure. They need help finding and evaluating opportunities, building income outside traditional clinical work, managing brand and business development, negotiating contracts, sending invoices, following up, and turning professional expertise into durable financial independence.
CapitalMD was built to be that partner.
We work closely with physicians to understand their goals, constraints, strengths, and definitions of success. Then we help build the roadmap, create opportunities, manage execution, and handle the operating work around them.
Our goal is to help doctors gain more leverage, income, and support outside the system so they can practice with more freedom inside it.
Doctors spend their lives taking care of everyone else.
CapitalMD was built to take care of them.
